What is a Maven?
The word comes from the Yiddish meyvn and Hebrew mevin (מבֿין), with the same meaning, which in turn derives from the Hebrew binah, meaning understanding.
Malcolm Gladwell also used it in his book The Tipping Point (Little Brown, 2000) to describe those who are intense gatherers of information that are the ones that pick up on new trends and pass them along to others.
You can be a Maven, too. Just pass along this web address to your friends, your family, or anyone looking for a bargain. (Did we mention that Mavens are known for finding bargains?)
